Join us for Ashtanga 101, a comprehensive introduction to the foundational elements of the Ashtanga yoga system. In this condensed version of our Intro Series, you’ll learn Sun Salutations, the foundational standing postures, and closing postures, along with an introduction to yoga philosophy, breathing techniques, and strategies for cultivating a consistent practice.
This workshop is designed to equip you with the confidence to practice at home or transition seamlessly into studio classes. You’ll receive printed resources to guide your practice and ensure you have the tools to integrate yoga into your daily routine, supporting your life and overall well-being.

About Heather
Heather is co-owner of Birmingham Yoga, where she leads and teaches the mysore program. Outside of Birmingham Yoga, she teaches meditation, mindfulness and yoga to those seeking support in recovery from Eating Disorders (ED) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
In the yoga room, Heather’s teaching style is light-hearted and compassionate. Her goal is to make the practice of yoga accessible to everyone. You can expect to be challenged, supported and directed toward self-inquiry.
