Birmingham Yoga presents Taylor Hunt for a weekend full of workshops September 28th – 30th

Date: Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th

Cost: $240 for full weekend (individual prices below), early bird – $200 if purchased before Sunday August 26th.

Taylor is a devoted student of Ashtanga, a system of yoga originally transmitted by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. The system is now transmitted by his teacher, Sharath Jois in Mysore India.

Taylor Hunt is an authorized level 2 Ashtanga yoga teacher from KPJAYI. He is dedicated to sharing the transformative and healing practice with others by teaching daily Mysore classes at Ashtanga Yoga Columbus and offering workshops around the world. He is also the author of A Way From Darkness and director of the Trini Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the life-changing practice of Ashtanga with those suffering from addiction.

Friday – Dharma Talk

Join Taylor for an evening discussing the philosophy behind the Ashtanga Yoga method. He will share his story and how the practice helped him find his true path. Learn how this transformational and healing practice can work in your life and how to overcome some of the roadblocks along the way. This is an interactive discussion you will not want to miss!

Saturday – Intro to Second Series
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm ($70)

The second series is called nadi shodana which means to cleanse the nervous system. The series works on the subtle body by opening the channels allowing prana to move freely. In this workshop, we will take an in-depth look at the Second Series from alignment of the physical postures to the energetic qualities. Learn how to safely approach these challenging postures. Open to all levels but be prepared to work!

Sunday – Mysore

Sunday – Sutra Study for Modern Living
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm ($70)

This is an interactive discussion on the Yoga Sutra’s of Patanjali. The Sutras are regarded as the authoritative text on yoga, outlining the eight limbs of offering guidelines for living a meaningful and purposeful life. Join Taylor as he shares insights gained from many years of study with Sree Sswath, Vedic scholar and cousin to Pattabhi Jois.
