Come and shake off the cold winter months in the north and the hot summers nights of south and experience peace in a magical land that permeates harmony, beauty and balance with mother nature and its people.
This will be a wonderful time to give thanks to our past and release that which no longer serves us making room for the new. Our retreat auspiciously coincides with Nyepi (“to keep silent”), Bali’s New Year, a six-day celebration welcoming new beginnings and a freeing of heaviness and darkness. On Mar 28th a day of silence will be honored by the entire island of Bali. This is the third day of Nyepi, the day after the new moon (dark moon) of the spring equinox when the day and night are approximately equal in duration.
Surya Kembar Villa is located on the Sacred lands of Kangdangan, 5 minutes from Ubud along the TitiBatu River overlooking rice fields. It offers us an idyllic setting to reflect, rejuvenate and still our minds. A tranquil place where we can relax, heal and remember our love of self and beautiful mother earth.
We will explore our body mind and hearts through yoga, breath, chanting and meditation. Healing areas within us that call our attention to our truth that we are love.
Our mornings will begin with Kundalini Yoga Sadhana, then a nutritious smoothie and a warm Ashtanga yoga Practice followed by an amazing brunch and fun-filled afternoons like hiking, swimming, waterfalls, kayaking, temples, cooking classes, reading, massage and napping.
In the evening’s will offer ourselves a restorative and healing practice followed by a nice meal. And a restful nights’ sleep.
During our visit, we will explore many of the culinary treats that Ubud offers. Reserve a culinary Raw Food cooking course with renowned Moksa, Bali’s #1 Restaurant.
Visit Tirta Empul Water Temple “holy water spring” -during the New Moon on March 28th.
We will invigorate the idea that we are here on vacation. And when we are on vacation we have the chance to learn to be free, to let go of our burdens an experience all the bounty and beauty that Mother Earth provides. And through that we can begin to know our truth that we are joy. As a guest, we are reminded to be thankful for all the gifts and lessons that we are given and to recharge so that we may bring love and light to all we meet leaving a path of grace and gratitude. May this short week remind us that we are always a guest and only here temporarily so let us live in happiness and gratitude sharing our love with all meet.

In 2000 Akasha was encouraged by his teacher to share his heart and love with others. He became a student of the renowned master teacher of Kundalini yoga, Yogi Bhajan, at the age of 11. In his early twenties, he studied Ayurveda with Vasant Lad, and while living and working in India, Akasha began studying Ashtanga yoga with Pattabhi Joi’s nephew, Vishwanath. A few years back he began studying Hanna Somatics and has begun integrating these wonderful teachings in his classes and privates. Akasha currently offers classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings. He is the owner of Birmingham Yoga studio. Akasha believes we are always a student and a teacher and that “a teacher must teach what they know” and in turn this will ground the practice for both the student and the teacher one cannot be without the other. This retreat will reflect his personal approach and include the traditions of Kundalini, classical Ashtanga and Somatics for a heart-centered retreat that will leave the student centered and full from the inside out.
In our emptiness, we begin to fill and in fear and anxiety we begin to love to unify and to heal our wounds of separateness.
In the light of all that is may we find beauty, harmony and love at all times.
