<p>In this six week series the student will be given the building blocks for the union of the breath, body and mind through yoga. Classes will be interactive with an opportunity for the student to ask questions to gain a better understanding of the basics of yoga. A new concept will be introduced each week such as breathing, body awareness, and basic asanas (postures). At the end of the series the student should feel confident walking into any level 1 or 2 yoga class and we encourage students to progress into the Beginner Series with Akasha . Space is limited to 15 so register early.</p>

<p>Ashtanga beginners series level 1 is a great class for beginners who wish to create a strong foundation and more experienced students wanting to refresh on the basics. Ashtanga is a more traditional yoga practice where a set of poses are given in a specific order. Classes begin with Sun Salutations then standing postures and end with some basic seated postures from the Ashtanga primary series. Modifications are given. The knowledge learned in this class can be used in most yoga classes.</p>

<p>Do you love Yoga? Are you super motivated, positive, energetic, a good communicator, and outgoing? Then you might be the right candidate to become Birmingham Yoga’s Studio Manager! Only serious candidates who truly love and exemplify the benefits of a healthy yoga lifestyle and appropriate leadership experience will be considered for this position. Preference will be given to yoga teachers especially those holding RYT certification.</p>
<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>The part-time studio manager will be responsible for leading and helping to build our yoga community:</p>
<ul>
<li>Running the facilities on a day to day, keeping our studio in tip-top shape</li>
<li>Communicating with enthusiasm, respect, and kindness to our students, always with a consistent and strong expression of highest service</li>
<li>Offering conscious, clear communications with the owners</li>
<li>Holding keen awareness of, and upholding the mission, values and culture of Birmingham Yoga</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Job Duties</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Must participate in our yoga community</li>
<li>Isn’t afraid to talk on the phone and read/send emails, manage Mindbody, keep customer accounts accurate and up to date, resolve customer needs and complaints, deals with lost-and-found stuff, and signs-in students for classes</li>
<li>Post flyers around town for upcoming events</li>
<li>Assist with promotion and hosting of events and workshops</li>
<li>Keep parking lot weeded and front flower beds weeded and watered</li>
<li>Keep all props neat and orderly</li>
<li>Willing to tackle odd jobs as they arise, keep the studio clean, and other challenges</li>
<li>Be willing to hold the space and to be committed to your own holistic practice.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills/Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Must LOVE yoga<strong></strong></li>
<li>Very detailed oriented<strong></strong></li>
<li>Super organized, thrives on multi-tasking<strong></strong></li>
<li>Self-motivated<strong></strong></li>
<li>Loves dealing with all kinds of people<strong></strong></li>
<li>Great writing skills<strong></strong></li>
<li>Can handle the stress of checking in a long line of people for class while the phone rings and the teacher is running late<strong></strong></li>
<li>Knows their way around a PC including Microsoft Word and Excel and is familiar with or willing to learn MindBody<strong></strong></li>
